First Koala Run - The kiam sap race

Moo will be proud, I registered for a 10km run all by myself without being invited by Moo. But what is a run without buddy? I dragged Nite into it as well. She even practiced more than me and clocked a really good time, better than me even!

Why didn't I choose a more popular and iconic run like The Melbourne Run? Mostly because I was reading the newspaper and they were promoting this event - thus I joined The Age Run. I wasn't expecting a lot of people but I also wasn't expecting that few people either. I was also expecting my race pack to be..well.. more but all I got was an envelope with my race bib and a time tag. You even need to pick up your own bib pins. Don't even mention Running Jersey. Sorry you have to buy or wear your own. As a queen of freebies (Barnyard family: Si Lai lar..what queen...), this is quite disappointing. I would have expect the fee that I paid, $50 would have covered at least a running T. Did I mention you also need to return the time tag? No wonder everything is outsource to India/China nowadays.

Despite trying all our best to be punctual and also because we worry we won't be able to complete within the time frame allocated, we were late. Our best laid plans were thwarted by missing the train and running around trying to locate the baggage area which just turns out to be an area cordoned off by metal bars. The signage was obviously made for dwarfs cause it was exactly that height.

To cap the whole thing off, when we try to discreetly join the race, the MC saw us and teased us," Where were you? You guys are late!". Spectacular entrance..hahaha

Anyway the lack of freebies does not deter me from enjoying my run. It was a good run, weather's perfect. And I got a medal to show for my efforts. Only a medal....

Shall I give marathons in Koala Land another chance?

Still think Adidas Sundown is the best to date.
